HI! It has been awhile! Hasn’t it? Summer for me is time to reflect and relax…oh, and run. 🙂 As summer winds down, my reflections on life and where we are right now are coming together. God has such an incredible way of placing people, scripture, situations and even weather in our paths to help us see Him.

As I type this I am surrounded by my zoo animals…Casper, the donkey and TJ and Daisy, the cats. They rely on me to love them, feed them and care for them. As I rely on God to do the same for me. The great thing about my animals is they love me unconditionally. No matter what I do, they hang around and love me back. Isn’t that great? Now, Casper, being that he is a donkey, is a little stubborn and possessive at times…but he is a male. 😉
I am also surrounded by God’s handiwork in the form of an amazing thunder, lightning and rain storm. There is nothing like sitting on the front porch with rain coming down.

It is so peaceful even in the midst of chaos. Life for us is really not very chaotic at the moment. Thankfully! But the world around us is. Today, I received a text from a dear friend asking me to pray for her husband because he is hurt. That is all she knows. He is currently serving our country overseas. I can’t even imagine being that far away from Mike and only receiving news he is hurt with no other information. So, I am asking my prayer warriors…please pray for Kristian and his wife, my friend, Gwyn. Help them to feel God’s healing hand and comforting hand. He is in control.
Control is what we have to remember God has…in every situation. Today’s scripture for me was:
Deuteronomy 30.16
16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
Mike and I are entering the land of Newsom Woodworks on Friday. After many years of dreaming and watching God work, Mike is taking a leap of faith and going out on his own. It is here. God is so good. Many of you reading this have been praying for him and for this faith journey we are on. Thanks and keep it up! 🙂 His last day is tomorrow, Thursday, July 19. The next stage is building his shop so he can start Newsom Woodworks. This is a very exciting time for us. My life verse is being lived out again. Hebrews 11.1:
11.1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Watching God work excites me beyond belief. I love seeing Him show us what He can do. I am pretty laid back, so it is easier for me to wait and watch while we move forward. Mike, not so much. This is one of the reasons we work so well together…He keeps me on track while I calm him down. It works most days. 🙂
This journey is a marathon. It is not a sprint. We will take our steps and pace them out so we can finish strong.
1 Chronicles 28.20
David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.
God is with us! He is paving the way. Come join us in prayer and in faith as we watch His handiwork unfold. 🙂
James 2:20
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Still running blessed…just enjoying the ride currently!
Trish
