2 Timothy 4.7…I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith!
HUGE GOD THING…on the course there was a many dressed like a red mailbox!!! No lie…He was sent there from above to help me make it to that mailbox! 🙂 It was awesome!!!
Today was a God day! A day I felt prayer like any other. It was hot! The heat was brutal! I knew starting out I was going to pull back and run to experience the journey. My mailboxes became the water stops. When it truly hit me how hot is was…it didn’t take long…I decided to run to each water stop…HYDRATE…soak myself and then run again to the next water stop. So, all I had to run was 2 miles at a time. Doable! It worked!
I will go into more detail tomorrow…tonight I am tired. 🙂 The amazing journey of the day and the heat wiped this girl out. 🙂 But, I wanted to say a few things tonight:
- I could NOT have done this without my Lord Jesus Christ giving me the strength and mental capacity to take step after step. I ran for HIM!
- I had an amazing TEAM here and all over the world. Team HOYT is the ONLY way to go…more tomorrow! But, such an amazing duo…so privileged and honored to be a member of their team.
- I can’t put into words what it meant to have Mike, my mom and dad, and my three nieces here with me! What an incredible day!!!!!
- I also can’t put into words what it meant to know so many of you…family, friends, strangers, students, teachers were praying and cheering for me. That is what cooled the temperature down…or maybe it was running through the many, many spraying garden hoses. I COULD NOT have put each foot in front of the other…without the mental self-talk that was fueled by your prayers. Iron sharpens Iron!!
