Malachi 3.10
10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.
Blessings have been come in more ways than one these days. Yesterday I received my official entry form for Boston. The Golden Ticket!!! Now, to fill it out and send it in ASAP! How exciting, this is really happening. God is so good. I know you have seen me write this over and over again. But, I can’t stop saying it. For His glory this is all happening. He is the one that planned it out in the first place, right? 🙂
He is pouring blessings as I sit here. Since my last post, I have had people share with me there ideas regarding fundraising. I have NO doubt this is going to happen and happen big. The one thing I want to shout is HE IS THE REASON!
As I have said in the past, I could not do this alone. God has blessed me with an amazing family, incredible friends and new lifelong friends throughout this process. Thank you Lord!
Status Report: Today, joy came back to join me on my run. We had a wonderful, yet chilly 4.6 mile jog. I soooo needed it. The last two runs this week have been struggles for me. I hate that! But, as in life this journey has it ups and downs too. What keeps me going? He does! What else? Knowing you all are out there supporting me and praying for me. What else? Knowing my ladies that I train are kicking tail when they workout. What else? That Rick and Dick Hoyt will be running their 30th Boston at the ages of 71 and 50. Yes, I can!!! And remember, Yes, You Can!
The Lord revealed Himself, as He usually does, during my hard runs this week. Of course, it was during today’s good run it all hit me. Yesterday, I had several doctors appointments. (Sidenote: One was for my foot….all is coming along nicely. Still sore at times…but slowly getting used to orthotics. Today was first full day of comfort. Praise the Lord! ) The last doctor appointment was scheduled for 2:30. I was having a routine cholesterol check. For those of you who have had this done, you know you have to fast for 12 hours. Well, I had been fasting since 6:30pm the previous evening. To say I was hungry was an understatement! I finally was able to eat at 4:30. I had the best banana I have ever, ever eaten!!! Of course, it didn’t stop there…but boy, that banana was good.
Back to the point, as we ran today it dawned on my why yesterday was so hard, I didn’t have the proper nourishment. My body was not properly fueled for my workout. I finished my workout…but it was hard. How many times do we go through the day and think, “I am having a hard time today! This is not my day!” Then we think back and remember we didn’t have our nourishment with the Lord. Spiritual nourishment is vital to make it through the good days and the bad. I know my bad days are much harder when I unintentionally fast from His word. How about you?
Prayer requests: We are having a planning meeting tomorrow for the Team Hoyt 5k the Bayside group is helping get together. Please pray we meet God where He is and we are obedient to His direction. I am VERY excited about this incredible opportunity to praise the Lord and share how He is truly blessing this incredible journey…because it is His and it is God-given.
Pennies for People…People with disabilities! I am starting this campaign at my school next week. Pray the kids are touched by Rick and Dick Hoyt’s story and are moved to help others who are unable to help themselves. Do you have extra pennies?? www.crowdrise.com/trishnewsom
